Ray played in goal for the two exhibition games that the Sidekicks played to bridge the time between the recently deceased-MISL winter season and the new CISL, which played during the summer. The two matches were against Team USA-Indoor (5 a Side) and against a team of Mexican "all-stars" during the fall of 1992.

Ray played for the Houston Hotshots in 1994 and the Washington Warthogs before returning to Dallas. He played the 1996-97 winter season in the USISL's "I-League" for the Dallas Rockets.
Mr. Ray died on February 19, 2013.
