General Info

The NPSL awarded an expansion franchise to Baltimore on July 20, 1992 after the M(I)SL's Baltimore Blast ceased operations rather than join either the NPSL or the CISL. While a majority of the staff and players came to the Spirit from the original Blast, there is no connection between the two clubs. The club adopted the Blast nickname on July 10, 1998.
