Knocked off the Air

• 1991: KJZY (99.1 FM), who had agreed in a verbal contract to broadcast the Sidekicks regular season games, changed formats from Jazz to satelite-based hard rock/metal. The station's new owners, after promising the 'Kicks that no changes would be made to the agreement, recinded that agreement and would not broadcast the remaining matches of this season.
  • 99.1 FM is now the home of KHCK-FM, which programs Tejano music.
