Sidekicks Obituary

2004:

MISL-Announced that the Dallas Sidekicks would be inactive for the 2004-05 season.

--The entire coverage of the original Sidekicks folding that appeared in the Dallas Morning News on 9/14/2004.

For the first time in 19 years, the Dallas Sidekicks won't be playing indoor soccer this fall.

Owner Sonny Williams put the team up for sale earlier this year, but was unable to secure a buyer in time for the upcoming Major Indoor Soccer League season.

League play begins Oct. 16, and the MISL plans to release the league-wide schedule Wednesday without the Sidekicks. MISL commissioner Steve Ryan hopes the club can return for the 2005-06 season.

The MISL will hold a dispersal draft Sept. 22. The Sidekicks will retain the rights to four players until the start of the 2005-06.
