Kydes was selected with Dallas' pick in the first round (8th overall) in the 1986 MISL draft.

 

College Days

Kydes was named all-State (New York) once and all-American twice while he played for Long Island. He also played in both the indoor (Cleveland) and outdoor (Orlando) Senior Bowls in 1986.

Where Did He Go?

Kydes was released on July 2, 1987. After playing professional outdoor soccer in Greece from 1988-90 and in the USISL (US outdoor second division) for several teams, lastly the New York Fever in 1995, Kydes was drafted by the Metrostars of Major League Soccer. He retired as a professional player on June 16th, 1996.

Kydes currently operates Mickey Kydes Soccer Enterprises in Connecticut.
