1989: The Sidekicks
were scheduled to play a 2:05 PM match at Kansas
City today, but the game had to be rescheduled due to icy conditions at
Dallas/Fort Worth airport preventing the Sidekicks from arriving in Kansas
City for the match.
MISL Commisioner
Bill Kentling fined the Sidekicks $25,000 on March
8,
and ordered the match rescheduled.
The Sidekicks had
played an afternoon match in Los
Angeles on March 4, but flew home
to
Dallas instead of straight to Kansas
City.
This was the 1st
match in Sidekicks history ever to be postponed due to weather.
Matches were
rescheduled in 1984-85 and 1986-87 due to the collapse of MISL
franchises in New York (Cosmos and Express)
Two Sidekicks
games were rescheduled on September
12, 2001 after the World Trade
Center attacks the previous day.

the penalty area by La
Furia forward Marco Loepz.
Deering turned
to Lopez after the goal and blew him kiss.
The
referee responded by sending Deering to
the penalty box for misconduct.
