1991: The Kansas City Comets (original MISL) folded on this date.

2002: The new-MISL announced that the St. Louis Steamers would "sit out" the 2002-03 season. Click Here to read the Press Release announcing the decision. The Steamers would indeed return under new ownership for the 2003-04 season.

1993: The Sidekicks played the Los Angeles United for the first time.

 

1994: The Anaheim Splash made their first visit to Reunion Arena. The Splash moved from Los Angeles to Anaheim after the 1993 season.

 

Future Opponents

1992: An indoor soccer franchise to replace the recently folded Baltimore Blast was founded on this date by Baltimore businessman TC Bill Stealey and former Blast head coach Kenny Cooper. The club was awarded membership in the National Professional Soccer League on July 20, 1992. The club announced the nickname Baltimore Spirit on July 27, 1992. The Spirit changed their name to the Baltimore Blast on June 30, 1998.
