MISL PRE-SEASON TOURNAMENTS ON TAP

 Baltimore and Dallas to host conference foes in 2002-03 preview events

(Westport, Conn., August 8, 2002) – Major Indoor Soccer League Commissioner Steve Ryan announced today that the MISL will hold a pair of pre-season tournaments in preparation for the 2002-03 regular season.

The Dallas Sidekicks will host the Kansas City Comets, Milwaukee Wave, and San Diego Sockers in a Western Conference pre-season tournament at the Inwood Soccer Center in Addison, TX on September 14-15.

The Baltimore Blast will welcome the Cleveland Crunch, Harrisburg Heat, and Philadelphia Kixx to an Eastern Conference pre-season tilt at DuBurns Arena in Baltimore on September 21-22.

Both tournaments will feature a format in which each team plays two games. Each tournament game will consist of four 15-minute quarters with a running clock. Each quarter break will be three minutes in length with half-time lasting for 10 minutes.

The Major Indoor Soccer League, launched in August of 2001, is a single-entity organization featuring a coast-to-coast presence with eight teams located across the United States.
