Signed as a Free Agent after the Cleveland Force folded at the end of the 1987-88 season.
King was named All-American 3 times during his college career at Fairleigh-Dickinson University, as well as being named an all-East Coast Athletic Conference team member for all four years he was at the school. Earned degrees in Business Administration and Fine Arts at F.D.U.
King was selected by the Cleveland Force in the 2nd round (19th overall) in the 1986 MISL Draft.
