Future Opponents

2012: The Texas Strikers were awarded a franchise in the PASL today. The Strikers are based in Beaumont, Texas. The franchise was sold by the PASL in 2014 and will play under the name "Oxford City FC of Texas" in the 2014-15 season.

Honor Roll?

2002: The Dallas Observer named the Sidekicks pending lawsuit with the Dallas Desperados (Arena Football) over trademark infringement (the two logos are very similar) was named "Best Lawsuit" in the weelkly newspaper's "Best of Dallas" edition. The litigation was eventually settled out of court.

Welcome Back!

2012: The re-born Sidekicks franchise opened Training Camp today.

1999: The following records for shots taken were set in a game vs. Portland:
1. Most shots by both teams in a half (59, 2nd half)
2. Most shots by both teams in a quarter (34, 4th quarter)

Open House/Media Day

1985: The Sidekicks held an "Open House" event for current and prospective season ticket holders on this date.
2002: The Sidekicks annual "Media Day" was held at Reunion Arena.

Always Remember the First Time

1997: Beau Brown recorded the following "personal firsts as a Sidekick" vs. Indiana: First Penalty and First two-goal game

1999: Sagu became the first Goalkeeper in Sidekicks history to score a goal by throwing the ball the length of the floor (bouncing the ball just inside the Pythons red line), and the ball rolled into the empty Portland net as time expired. The time of the goal was 15:00 of the 4th Quarter.
