1989: The Sidekicks
filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy after Mavericks owner Don Carter served
notice on the Sidekicks regarding default on a promissory note due the
Mavericks on July 17, 1988. This action allowed the 'Kicks to finish the
season. Gordon Jago was named Team President to replace David Shuttee.
Mr. Shuttee assumed the role of special council to assist the Sidekicks
through their reorganization.
