Scored the only goal (unassisted) in the Sidekicks 1-2 loss at Cleveland on January 22, 1988.
Scored the 2nd Sidekicks goal in the club's 4-3 Overtime win vs Kansas City on March 19, 1988.
After Espinoza retired as a player, he began coaching teams both indoor and in outdoor soccer. After coaching at two small colleges in Illinois, he moved on to coach the Rockford Raptors of the then-USISL (now USL).
Espinoza also coached both the Mexico Torros (1995) and Indianapolis/Indiana Twisters (1996-7) of the CISL.

Espinoza played and coached for several years in the NPSL. He served the New England Revolution of Major League Soccer as an assistant coach until November 30, 2001.
According the the Revolution press release announcing his departure, Espinoza operates a soccer academy in Northern California, and his resignation was prompted by a wish to return there.
