Outdoor Exhibition Scheduled

1988: The Sidekicks and SMU announced that they had scheduled an outdoor exhibition match to be played at Ownby Stadium on October 1.

What Might Have Been

1984: Golden Bay Earthquakes (NASL) owner Carl Berg rejected an offer from Sidekicks' owner Don Carter to purchase the contracts of Steve Zungul, Branko Segota, Fernando Clavijo, and 2 other players. The offer for all 6 players was $700,000 cash.

Berg instead sold the players to the San Diego Sockers for an unknown amount that included an ownership stake in the Sockers.
