- 1989: David Paschall, who expected to return to U.S. Bankruptcy Court on June 9
to assume control of the Sidekicks under a Chapter 11 reorganization plan,
announced that the deal had been jepordized by the City of Dallas asking him
to personally guarantee aproximately $70,000-$80,000 of back rent on Reunion
Arena. Paschall told the Dallas Morning
News that it was not Reunion Arena officials causing the problem, but
City attorneys that are "...giving us fits." Paschall expected the
dispute to be worked out before the June 9 hearing before the hearing. City
of Dallas representives did not return phone calls to the newspaper requesting
comment. The Sidekicks filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy protection on February
13 after Donald Carter threatned legal action over a $560,000 note owed
to him by the Sidekicks I, Ltd. partnership.
