Hat Tricks a'plenty

1996: Nick Stavrou, Tatu, and Terry Woodberry each scored 3 goals in the Sidekicks' 14-9 win over the Anaheim Splash to open the 1996 season.

1997: Tatu and David Doyle both scored four goals on Opening Night vs. the Houston Hotshots. This was the eighth time in Sidekicks history that both men earned Hat Tricks in the same game.

Record Book

1987: The following Playoff records were set or tied during the match vs. Tacoma on this date:
- Dallas took 18 shots in the 4th quarter.
  - This broke the previous record of 17 taken in the 1st quarter vs. Baltimore on May 17, 1987.
- Tacoma took 14 shots in the 1st Quarter.
  - This tied the record for most shots in a quarter by an opponent set twice previously.

Always Remember the First Time

1994: The Sidekicks visited The Summit in Houston during the Sidekicks first game with the Houston Hotshots.

1997: The following players played thier first game as a Sidekick on Opening Night at Houston:
- Beau Brown
- Hunter Goff
  - he also committed his first foul and blocked his first shot.
- Jose Alvarado
  - He took two shots, committed two fouls, and blocked one shot.
- Antonio Cortes
  - Cortes earned his first win as a Sidekicks goalkeeper.

Sign of the Times

1987: Tatu, can we swim in your pool?

--a sign hanging off the upper deck of Reunion Arena in Game 4 of the MISL Championship Series in response to Tacoma Coach Alan Hinton's remarks to the press that he would buy Tatu a swimming pool at the end of the series so he could practice his diving in the off-season.
