• 1985: This item appeared in a column written by Barry Horn of the Dallas Morning News at the end of the season:

  During the Sidekicks' first trip of the season to San Diego, the team ordered a cake to celebrate defender Mike Twellman's 25th birthday. How nice. But when the players presented Twellman the cake, they sang, "Happy Birthday, Dear Tim.' That's Tim as in Tim Twellman, Mike's older brother, who plays for the Kansas City Comets.
