2003: Kyle Owen was killed in an automobile accident when he lost control, and was ejected from the car he was driving. He was not wearing a seat belt.

The Long Goodbye

2004: Sidekicks owner Sonny Williams stopped paying the salaries of all but 3 front office staffers on this date.

The only 3 front office staffers that continued to recieve their salaries until the Sidekicks were eliminated from the playoffs were GM Jim Tolbert, PR Director Herman Hudson, and Sales Director Derrell Pitcock.
These three staffers salaries ended with the Sidekicks elimination of from the playoffs on April 16, 2004.

One Less Opponent

1986: The Pittsburgh Spirit, a charter member of the MISL, folded after reporting a loss of $2.4 million during the 1985-86 season.

Regular Season Games

1987: Sidekicks 4 at San Diego Sockers 3

Always Remember the First Time

1987: The Sidekicks won at the San Diego Sports Arena for the first time.

It was also the first time Dallas had won 2 games in a row against the Sockers (having beaten San Diego for the first time ever at Reunion Arena on March 22, 1987.

Dallas would not win two games in a row against the Sockers during the Regular Season again until the 1989-90 season. A true winning streak vs. the Sockers did not take place until the 1993 and 1994 campaigns, where Dallas won 4 in a row.
