In a sense, the Sidekicks were starting over for the 1993 season.. Along with the change of season from fall/winter to summer, necessitated by their joining the Continental Indoor Soccer League, the Sidekicks changed their logo and uniform colors. The green, silver and white that had severed the club since 1984, was replaced by purple silver, and black (colors that were being adopted by sports teams across the country at the time).
