The Sidekicks acquired the rights of Dezso "DJ" Horvath from the Kansas City Comets on February 11, 2004 in exchange for a 1st round pick in the 2004 MISL Amateur Draft, an unnamed future player, and "financial considerations".
Horvath was named new-MISL Goalkeeper of the Week on March 22, 2004. The following quote comes from the MISL press release anouncing the award:
Horvath went 2-1 with a 3.72 goals against average and .776 save percentage for Dallas last week. In an 8-3 win over St. Louis on Wednesday, March 17, Horvath turned away 20 of 23 shots. The 33-year-old made 13 saves on 18 shots in a 5-4 loss to Milwaukee on Saturday, and repelled five of the eight shots he faced in a 4-3 win over the Wave on Sunday. Horvath, a native of Hungary, is now 5-4 with a 3.94 GAA and .772 save percentage in nine games for the Sidekicks since the middle of February. He joins Sagu (November 3 and 24, January 26) as Dallas netminders to win weekly accolades in 2003-04.
