1996: Roderick Scott was named Assistant Coach.

Billy Phillips was promoted to a position in the Dallas Mavericks organization. Sidekicks ownership signed a new agreement for the club to be managed by the Dallas Mavericks organization.

- Baltimore leads the Best of 5 series 1 game to 0.

Sold!

1996: J.L. "Sonny" Williams, president of Minyards Food Stores, purchased 45% of the Sidekicks from Don Carter. The sale price was not disclosed.

Williams began making "ownership-type" decisions under the new ownership structure. Carter retained 45% of the team himself. Then-Head Coach Gordon Jago was sold 10% of the club.
