- 1986: Don Carter put the Sidekicks up for sale, citing losses of close to $5 million over two seasons.
- 1991: Gordon Jago said he was "more than optimistic" that the Sidekicks would be be around for the 1991-92 season. Two different potential ownership groups had possesion of the financial records and a third, whose identity Jago would not disclose to the press, all expressed interest in buying the franchise.
