Now that we've got the legal stuff out of the way (sorry about that... music is a complicated business), here are the links and some info about the tracks. You don't have to post this additional info unless you want to.
*****************************
All music was written and produced by Bob Singleton, a Grammy® nominated,
platinum album songwriter and producer, who is also a huge Sidekicks fan since
the early 90's. He's still a family season ticket holder, and can be found
somewhere in Section 102.
"Havin'
Some Kicks Tonight" (3.1 mb .mp3, 3:19 length) full length mix of the
original theme by Bob Singleton. This was introduced in 1994. Lead singer is
Terry Casburn, a former Capitol Records recording artist, and the guitar work is
Mark Stitts, a former Word Records recording artist.
This was originally
going to have the Sidekicks team members record the "shout breakdown" in the
middle section. Scheduling difficulties didn't allow that to happen-- but it
would have put an interesting "accent" on the piece. The song has nearly every
figure of speech in the English language that contains the word
"kick".
"Havin'
Some Kicks Tonight" (1 mb .mp3, 1:08 length) shorter, 1 verse & chorus
version of the theme.
"Kick
It Up" (1.6 mb .mp3, 1:49 length) This was written and produced for the 2002
season. It was developed and approved, but before it was completed, rejected.
Manangement decided that a guitar driven sound like "Havin' Some Kicks Tonight"
should be used, instead of the dance-pop approach of this work. This mix is
missing the big guitar parts that were going to be added, and there were also
going to be "Sidekicks!" shouts added on the chorus (again by the team), at the
end of every line. The vocalist is Olivia Mojica, a semi-finalist on Fox's
"American Idol" in early 2003.
"Sidekicks
Rock" (1.6 mb .mp3, 1:46 length) full length mix of the new theme,
introduced in 2002. It sounds a lot like "Havin' Some Kicks Tonight," because
after creating "Kick It Up" (see above), Sidekicks' management decided that it
liked "Havin' Some Kicks Tonight," and wanted something just like it... only
different. Vocals are by Christian Nuckels, lead singer for "Six Foot Midget" a
rock/ska alternative band from Denton (http://www.sixfootmidget.com/. The
guitarist is Bud Guin, A-team studio guitar player from Dallas. The shouts were
supposed to be done by Sidekicks team members, but the idea was scratched again
due to scheduling. The "manly men" that did the shouting include Rob Kenny,
former director of ticket sales for the Sidekicks.
