Corbin (D1-6) served as a tri-captain and started all 22 games for the Mustangs in 2001 and was a 2001 All-Missouri Valley second team midfielder. He finished fourth on the team in scoring with 18 points on six goals and six assists. Corbin finished with 51 points (16 goals and 19 assists) in his 83-game career.

Bussey was a 2000 Hermann Trophy and Missouri Athletic Club College Player of the Year finalist as a junior while earning NSCAA first-team All-America and All-Midwest Region honors. Bussey was a two-time letter-winner at Plano East High School.

Blake (D3-24) scored three goals, all game-winners, in his senior season. He also had four assists and played in 19 of 22 games with four starts. Doi (DTR-6) had one goal and eight assists in 75 games. Brown (D2-15) recorded five assists in 33 games over two seasons after transferring from UNC-Charlotte.

"Schellas Hyndman (SMU head coach) consistently has one of the top programs in the country," said Jim Tolbert, the Sidekicks General Manager. "The Sidekicks have been lucky to benefit from the service of many SMU players. We hope these young men will continue that tradition."

The Sidekicks have had eight players from SMU during the past 17 seasons; Joel Brewer, Hank Henry, David Hughes, Kyle Krpata, Daniel Montoya, David Pfiel, and Alan Prampin. Pedroso and Brewer were members of the 2001 World Indoor Soccer League Championship team.

The Mustangs were the top-rated team in the NCAA last year and entered the NCAA Championships as the No. 1 seed with a 19-0-0 record. SMU fell to St. John's 2-0 at Ford Stadium in the quarterfinal finishing the year at 21-1-0. All five players were also on the 2000 squad that made a run to the NCAA College Cup semifinal.
